Ingredients
Marination
- 500g beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons coconut milk
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon tamarind paste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Peanut Sauce
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup coconut milk
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Garnishes
- 20 bamboo skewers, soaked in water for at least 30 minutes
- Lime wedges, for serving
- Cucumber slices, for serving
Beef Satay Sauce (if applicable)
Mix the following:
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon coconut milk
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Recipe Steps
1. Prepare Marination
In a blender or food processor, combine soy sauce, coconut milk, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, tamarind paste, and paprika. Blend until smooth. Place the sliced beef in a large bowl and pour the marinade over it. Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
2. Thread Skewers
Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Remove the beef from the marinade, letting any excess liquid drip off. Thread the beef onto the bamboo skewers, leaving a small space between each piece.
3. Grill Satay
Grill the satay for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
4. Prepare Peanut Sauce
In a blender or food processor, combine peanut butter, coconut milk, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic, ginger, and paprika. Blend until smooth.
